Hello, everyone!
Are you playing Street Fighter IV? Please friend me on X-Box Live for battlings. My GamerTag is BOODOOperson.
Other news: Amanda and I were considering GDC, but that doesn't look like it will be happening at this point as enthusiasm has leveled.
Haven't played as much music as I should recently, I've been Team Fortressing or Street Fightering instead. I've recorded almost literally nothing, so that needs to change. SG and Strat could both use some attention/setup, but that's no excuse!
I tried to call out due to the storm today, but instead I ended up working the 12:30-9PM shift because two people had beaten me to calling out, one of whom works this shift. Showed up to work and the cafe in our building is closed, so I'm not sure what is happening re: food today. I may eat people's brains.
That's all for now. Peace out, Seacrest!
I don't check Weather.com for a month or more on end in the summer, it's a useless attempt to quantify a summer day with temperature, humidity and dew point. The exact pattern of the clouds and the placement of the sun matter as much as knowing that it's as hot outside on a given day as it is inside my body that afternoon. That said, I check the thing every time I open the door during the winter. Somehow on those days the difference between 6°F, "Feels Like..." -2° and 9° "Feels Like" -1° can make me take a completely different outlook on the day.
I hope this winter I'll be smart enough to use my camera to capture those same beautiful conditions that make "unbearable" days amazing, removed from the frigid cold. Maybe conditions equally powerful that tend to incline one's mind in the opposite direction- but why would I want to spend my time out in weather that makes you want to kill yourself in an effort to convince more people to, after seeing the photograph, commit suicide themselves? I only have one set of shots that sort of go with this post, but it's a pretty poor execution. Being afraid to take my D70 out in a snowstorm is a reasonable but terribly limiting condition. I think I have film shots from the EM during the storm, I should look for those to see if any came out.
Oh, also I love getting random olfactory memories. Today I smelled Earthbound, or the smell of Nintendo Power Issue #068. Or was it #080? It had instructions on hooking your SNES audio to a stereo receiver, which was probably the first time I ever wired something. Someone was doing it with me, Scott? Kyle? John/Justin? James? Brian? No idea. We thought we'd broken something until I realized everything had been plugged in except for the SNES to the wall- whoops! Now I have to go to the store for cigarettes and food then come home and do a little work before bed. I'm writing a QoTD post in another tab, but suddenly I wanted to write this one instead and I like it better right now anyways. Sorry to use this like LJ, I'm still adjusting.
Oh, and I just looked up when Earthbound was released- 1995, and what year did issues #068 and #080 span? 1995. I'm honestly giddy with how cool that is. I know I sound like a geek, soz. The song is the last track on the Earthbound soundtrack, borrowing from the PSI sound effects in the game for samples.
